CLAIRE EGAN

PHOTOGRAPHY

At the age of 15, Claire Egan was the youngest ever recipient of the Ronald D Woolf memorial photographic award, exhibiting at the National Exhibition and receiving a Photographic Society of New Zealand Silver Medal. By the time Claire had completed high school, she had gained an Associateship and Licentiateship in Photography through two portfolios of work. After high school, Claire went on to work at Photography by Woolf in Wellington, assisting one of New Zealand’s top photographers, Simon Woolf, on weddings, portrait sittings, governmental and diplomatic visits, sports and press assignments. While working for Woolf, Claire received a prestigious Gold Medal International Wedding and Portrait Photographer of the Year Award in Las Vegas. Other awards include winning the Agfa Listener Timeframe Award and Kodak young photographer of the year. 

Claire has had images published in newspapers, magazines and books including; The New Zealand Herald, The Press, Sunday Star-Times, Vanity Fair Australia and First Light; a dawning of the new Millennium. Now based in London, Claire takes on photographic projects in conjunction with her career as an Opera Singer. To discuss a potential project please
